Real Laurel (Laurus nobilis)
The real laurel, also called spice laurel, is a tree from the laurel family (Lauraceae).
The laurel tree probably comes from Asia Minor and came from there to the Mediterranean countries. Even in ancient times, the laurel tree was considered sacred, was dedicated to the god Apollo and the symbol of wisdom and glory.
