Welcome to the home of Greek organic herbs
Greek oregano (Origanum vulgare ssp.hirtum)

Greek oregano (Origanum vulgare subsp. Hirtum) is a subspecies of common oregano (Origanum vulgare).
A separate subspecies was dedicated to the Greek oregano due to its specific natural appearance in Greece.
While most oregano species form small, pink flowers from July, the Greek oregano shines in a pure blossom white.
Greek oregano is said to have a stronger flavour and aroma intensity than many of its relatives.
Cretan oregano (Origanum onites) has similar aromas as the oregano hirtum . Its essential oil can be distinguished from other types.
The ideal climatic conditions in Greece, the altitude, the sun, the sea breeze and the soil rich in trace elements make the Greek oregano one of the best in the world.
The winter-proof Greek oregano has the most intense taste of all known oregano varieties, which it does not lose when heated. In contrast to other species, it blooms white, which is why it is often referred to as the "White Dost".
